County Hopping or Home Base?
Video Transcribed: Hi there, I’m Okmulgee lawyer Jay Bills. I’m here today to answer a common family law question in regard to jurisdiction.
You know, if it’s paternity and you got parents living in two different counties, and who’s going to be, what county you can file a paternity action in, or maybe a custody modification in, you know, usually that’s going to be determined by where the child resides, but there are other factors in regards to how long the child’s been there, the child moved from out of state into Oklahoma, how long has the child been in Oklahoma. So it really kind of varies on a case-by-case basis.
So if you have any questions regarding jurisdiction and which particular county’s going to be, have control over your case, just reach out to me, an Oklahoma child custody attorney, at okmulgeeattorney.com.
