What constitutes marital property? How long have you had it, when it was acquired, and was it acquired through an inheritance? Was it a pre-existing pension that maybe the husband had prior to the marriage? How much of that is your share, or the marriage’s share? All those come down to sometimes very complicated questions with complicated accounting to make sure that you get your fair share.
